Banks & Co

Banks & Co. celebrates the heritage and the work of botanist, Sir Joseph Banks. He travelled on the English voyage of discovery to New Zealand in 1769, with Captain James Cook. In New Zealand and later in Australia he catalogued many native plants for both countries. This was a ‘tour de force’ of early botany, much revered. The Banks & Co. collections reflect some of the plants he documented – many of them unique to New Zealand or the South Pacific.
