Not to be taken continuously or long-term. Do not take concomitantly with medications (including the contraceptive pill) or nutritional supplements as activated charcoal can reduce their absorption.
Activated charcoal should not be given to people with an obstruction of the intestines or if the person has swallowed a corrosive agent, such as a strong acid or alkali.
